In the Kitami region, Japan’s top onion-producing area, years of experience and effort by the farmers have led to the cultivation of sweet, densely-packed, and beautiful onions. The farmers strive each year to improve their produce, combining time and collective wisdom, continuing to produce delicious onions to this day.

Hokkaido is a treasure trove of seafood, among which scallops have the highest catch in Japan. Scallops nurtured over years by farmers, released as juveniles and grown in the harsh natural environment and nutrient-rich seas, develop a deep sweetness and rich flavor.

First, enjoy the soup as is. You can savor the richness and umami of Kitami onions, packed into the onion soup, and the taste of scallops nurtured in the rich seas.

Try adding ingredients with subtle flavors such as Chinese cabbage, leeks, tofu, wheat gluten, and fried tofu to the soup.

For the onion soup, add meat, and for the scallop soup, enjoy it with your favorite seafood.

For the final touch, add ramen or rice. For a better taste, add ramen after boiling and rice after washing.
